We will begin with a prayer to Spirit

We are as Great Spirit created us

We are its eternal offspring

light and joy and peace abide in us.

Our sinlessness is guaranteed by Great Spirit

We are one self united with our Creator

at one with every aspect of creation

and limitless in power and in peace.

We are Spirit, Spirit we are, a holy child of Great Spirit

free of all limits, safe and healed and whole, free to forgive,

free to save the world.

Salvation comes from one self. Its thoughts are ours to use.

We will accept our part in Great Spirit’s plan for salvation,

and salvation is our only function here.

Great Spirit being love, is also happiness, and it is

happiness we seek today. We cannot fail because we seek the truth.

We seek but what belongs to us in truth,

and joy and peace are our inheritance.

Great Spirit’s Peace and Joys are ours. We come together today for the Name Giving Ceremony of this lad.

(Mother) and (Father) now present this young (lad/lass) to Great Spirit.

It is now that I remind you …(Mother)…and …(Father)... that:-

“Your children are not your children

They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.

They come through you but not from you.

and though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts

For they have their own thoughts.

You may house their bodies but not their souls.

For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot

visit, not even in your dreams.

You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.

For life goes not backwards nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.

The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends

you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.

Let your bending in the Archer's hand be for gladness,

For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.

“Great Spirit, we present to you this boy child, and we name him _____________________

We ask, that you watch over this lad and guide him through this

his journey until you decide to take him again into your keeping.

(childs name) , in you is the presence of God The Eternal, whose presence can heal you, direct you, and love you.

Baptism and initiation is the acceptance of these divine attributes in the kingdom of heavenly consciousness with you….and to make them manifest in your life eternally.

Minister places her hand on the head of the child.

“for the Lord of abundance and compassion has called you to be blessed and consecrated.”

In the spirit of this truth I baptize and initiate your mind, body and soul into the consciousness of god’s presence with you…….

And so it is!

Spirit, we also present to you the Spirit Guardians of "Childs name" who have vowed to watch over him and who will take him into their care should the need arise.

I call on you ‘name of godparent’ and you ‘name of godparent’ as the Spirit Guardians to watch over this child.

"Do you accept this, your role as Spirit Guardians for …(childs name)..?

We Do

May you both continue to grow spiritually by leading lives guided by the

principles of love. May the Christ-Consciousness be quickened within you

and may you be abundantly blessed.

Oh Great Spirit,

We awake to another Sun,

Grateful for the Gifts bestowed,

Granted One by One.

Grateful for the greatest Gift,

The precious breath of Life,

Grateful for the Abilities,

That guides us Day and Night.

As we walk our chosen Path,

Of lessons we must learn,

Spiritual Peace and Happiness,

Are the rewards of Life we earn.

Thank You for Your Spiritual Strength,

And for our thoughts to Praise,

Thank You for Your Infinite Love,

That guides us through these days.
